This is a Notice of Intent only. The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), intends to award a Cooperative Agreement to Free the Slaves for a project to promote the voices and engagement of persons with lived experience to prevent labor exploitation. “Persons with lived experience" refers to individuals who have directly experienced human trafficking, forced labor, child labor, and/or labor exploitation. The project will provide technical assistance to amplify the voices of persons with lived experience to prevent labor exploitation, as well as to provide needed technical support to governments as they institutionalize the leadership of persons with lived experience in their policies and procedures.
