Description

The U.S. Department of State’s Embassy Lome announces an open competition for the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) program. This initiative provides foreign assistance to alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs, supporting projects that advance the Administration’s America First foreign policy priorities. The program seeks proposals that strengthen U.S. national security, promote economic growth, and reinforce the rule of law in Togo. Eligible applicants are teams of alumni who will design and implement projects that address strategic challenges such as unlawful migration to the United States, entrepreneurship, energy independence, and countering malign foreign influence, while fostering strong U.S.-Togo ties. Projects must demonstrate measurable impact, sustainability, and clear alignment with U.S. interests, including supporting recipient country self-reliance, reduced dependency on U.S. taxpayer resources, and the advancement of free enterprise. By supporting alumni to lead in their communities, this program advances U.S. policy goals of making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous, while building enduring connections that deliver tangible returns for the United States.
